I know most of you have applied or are interested in the common law program, but I was wondering if any of you have information on the civil law program at the U of O. There's not a whole lot of information on admissions requirements; just the number of post-secondary credits needed. Anyone know how many places there are, how many applicants, average gpa, etc? Personally, I've had a great first two weeks. I've been homesick to the point of crying (this doesn't leave the board!), but the great profs and friendly students at Dal consistently make me forget my worries... at least during the day. I"m new here and realize its hard to get responses if your a newbie but i'll try my luck.

My question is regarding gpa and lsat requirments.

I'm a third year BBA student at Uoft and have not done well in School in my first two years.

I plan on working hard and taking electives in my final 2 years at undergrad.

Could someone please let me know if law schools would look at my last two or even last 3 years GPA?? Just wondering about the prospects for Bay street placement
concerning Dal and Ottawa. Im in at both and am having a hard time deciding.

I have heard that Dal places quite well on Bay street and may have the better reputation, but is the proximity of Ottawa an advantage that overirdes this?(atleast its in Ontario..) Would htis enable better opportunity for contacts?

Ottawa seems to not generate too much excitement on htis board.

I'm looking for a place to live in North York and I know that the york campus is located a few minutes drive from Jane/Finch (which is supposedly terrible). Do you think it's relatively safe to live just outside of campus?

If you know the york campus map at all, there's a street south of campus called Sentinel. The apartment is located right there! So it's literally right beside campus -- the next best thing since I probably won't get into graduate housing.
